Accra Hearts to Oak thrash Mirren 2: 1 to sail to Round of 32 of FA Cup












Accra Hearts of Oak, popularly known as Phobia won their match against Division one team Sporting Mirren at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday 23rd April 2017 as part of the ongoing MTN FA Cup competition.


Anthony Nimo scored the first goal of the game to secure a solid lead by the Phobians in the 25th minutes of game play. Sporting Mirren equalized in the 36th Minutes by Jewel Arthur after receiving a pass from Timothy Darbah.


The Phobians came back from the second half of the game with their possessive game which gave them a competitive lead as Patrick Razak place the ball at the back of the net of the in the 53rd Minutes.

Speaking to a sports analyst Kweku Asamoah, he mentioned that Sporting Mirren had a great game but allowed Hearts to dominate midfield in the second half of the game. He praised Patrick Razak for his goal and mentioned that such player needs more motivation on the field of play.

“Sporting Mirren has done well; in fact, this game could have ended at least a draw as I earlier predicted but they allowed Hearts to dominate in the midfield” he said.

“Razak’s goal was a brilliant finish a good lead for Hearts at the crucial moment. He needs motivation on the field and trust me he will be a fantastic player” Kwame said.

Meanwhile, the reappoint of the Ghanaian Coach for the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah and his assistant coach Maxwell Konadu were seen at the stadium as the fans hailed him.
