Koforidua-Mamfe road develops “crater”: Such Stories Never Trend on Social Media

It was frightening and warring when a few friends shared an image of a damaged road on social media to get the attention of the government to resolve the problem. This was the unusual stories which ends up with the tedious bureaucracy to get the government offices designated for roads and highway to get immediate solutions to such problems on our roads. They are paid for that anyway. Well, many would describe such pit as a natural disaster but honestly whether natural or man-made the solution is to get the road repaired. I noticed the likes and comments on the social media page. Sadly, it had only 2 likes , 1 sad emoji with one share.

There is no time to apportioned blames and disrespectfully insult those whose responsibilities are to resolve that. Perhaps they may be unaware! Well, such stories would obviously not trend until it causes a serious accident or some prominent personality loses his or her life there before the media or government would hesitantly do something about it. Let us not wait till such “crater” cause the loss of precious lives of citizenry before attended to.

Drivers who ply the Koforidua-Mamfe road have complained bitterly over the deep pit at the Koforidua – Mamfe exposing pedestrians and drivers to danger. The road which is about 7km away from the Mamfe township causes traffic in the middle of the road. Passengers have complained that there is no sign showing that there is a pit at the place, exposing the drivers to high risk or danger.

Speaking to a passenger who identified herself and Antie Mercy who is a trader at Koforidua, she lamented that the “crater” has been there for weeks and nothing has been done about it.
We are therefore calling upon the district assembly or the designated director in charge of roads in the area to come to the aid of the people.

Let us share till it gets fixed!!
