Countryman Songo : Andrew Ayew can lead Black Stars - Fire Man



Famous Sports Journalist and host of the popular show “Fire for Fire” who is affectionately known as Countryman Songo, Patrick Osei-Agyeman tipped Adrew Ayew over Asamoah Gyan for captain in the Black Stars team.

He made this avowal at the StarChat show with host, Bola Ray, September 6, 2017 causing a massive debate on social media. He mentioned that, professionally, he will choose Adrew Ayew over the current captain of the Black Star Asamoah Gyan. His selection was based on how young Andrew Ayew was, his current performance among others   “….Adrew Ayew is young and has seen it all….” He said.

Countryman Songo also mentioned that the Coach Akwesi Appiah should be firm on his decision pertaining his selection of players. He urged the coach to be bold and drop the aging players as well as non-performing players from the team. Songo added that Coach Akwesi Appiah needs to improve on his tactic.

The Host of “fire for fire” , Countryman Songo released the intriguing submission, which most football lovers on several platforms agrees. He expressed that Politician should not politicize the administration of the National Team, Black Stars. “…Politicians should back off from the National Team..” Songo mentioned.

This call was as a result of the statement made by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzie, literally pointing figures to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government for their poor performance Black Stars. Songo mentioned that the Deputy Minister claimed the team did not start FIFA World Cup qualifies well because of the NDC government.

Countryman Songo also lambasted the Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, for his inability to speak about matters relating to the Local League. “He cannot talk about the local league ..” he said. 

Meanwhile, Countryman Songo who has been regarded as the most controversial Local Sports Journalist in Ghana, is passionate about football development in the country. He is known for his constant criticism over the nagging issues surrounding the game in the country.  He has been tagged as the “The Fireman” in Sports in Ghana.
