The National Executive body and the Council of Elders yesterday 25th April, 2016 paid a courtesy call on the President John Dramani Mahama.
The delegation was led by National President of OVA together with delegation from the Council of Elders of OVA.Lawyer Nketiah Sarpong formally introduced the delegation of OVA; Alhaji El-Alawa,Mr.Felix Addo, Prof.Gorge Armah,Dr.Francis Asana,Mr.Biney Joseph, Mr.Owusu Donkor,Mr.David Quanson,Mr.Richard Otchwemah,Mr.Darko Akuamoah,Mr.Francis Avonyochi ,Dr.Apaak Clement, and Hanson Emmanuel.



President of OVA,Lawyer Nketiah Sarpong on behalf of OVA thanked the President, HE.John Dramani Mahama for the OVA bus which was donated by him even though letter of appreciation had been sent earlier.
Also he encouraged the President to get bolder and tougher with his appointees.

OVA made it clear to the President of our support to all his efforts to better the lots of Ghanaians and that there's more work to be done.
Lawyers Sarpong highlighted a few OVA National programmes that offer support to underprivileged in society including the Sanitation programme ,Mentoring of Senior High Schools, OVA Medical outreach, donating to people with special needs among others.

Lawyer Sarpong formally informed and also invite president Mahama for the Launching of OVA Northern Regional Branch.

On behalf of OVA he wished the President well in the 2016 election and also hinted him his role as the special guest of honour in 2017 homecoming (60th anniversary).

President Mahama in response acknowledged all members present and urged OVA to continue with the good works especially giving back to the needy in society. He added that, the programme of the year by OVA was a laudable idea which he fully endorses and will render his support.

President Mahama urged OVA to keep Vandalism alive since his good memories back in the days, lessons learned about vandalism especially being "our brothers keeper" and being the voice to the voiceless in society has over the years shaped the lives of many members.

He added that his administration is working hard to ensure Ghanaians have better social amenities and better standard of living. He added that, his administration is managing the energy sector effectively and Ghana will have constant gas supply with the mechanisms they are putting in place. He would be commissioning a Project in Western Region during the weekend.

President Mahama spoke about the sanitation challenge in the country and commended OVA for supporting the National Sanitation initiative particularly instituting it in the OVA programmes. On the issue of ministerial appointments, he told the house his administration will advocate for Presidents to choose ministers not only from parliament but people with the right skills and expertise in the respective sector.


He finally reiterated that OVA should continue with the good works especially giving back to society.
