Go and tell the young ones that wasn't the Vandalism we started - Chairman of Appointment Committee orders Minister Designate

Following the vetting of Deputy Ministers designate  Thomas Mbomba who explained  why he enjoyed his days in Commonwealth Hall as a bodyguard to Chief Vandal, Hon. Joseph Owusu, Chairman of the Appointment Committee admonished him to go back to the Hall to educate and correct the young ones to do the right thing.

In response, Chairman of the Committee, Joseph Osei Owusu who doubles as first Deputy Speaker, advised the minister nominee to go back to Commonwealth Hall and right the wrong since this was not the legacy left by their predecessors.

“When did this start? Because our Chief Vandals were group leaders and we didn’t have to have bodyguards carrying things around them. Please tell your young people that is not the vandalism we started. You stop your own lectures to follow somebody, what kind of vandalism is that?” he said.

The position of the Chief Vandal remained a traditional head and student advocate that represents the student body of the Commonwealth Hall, University of Ghana during important function and disciplines when need be.

There has been sputt of controversies on most of the Vandals platforms with some correcting some of the mainstream characters and activities introduced into Vandalism at the blind side of those who started.

Others also shared that the Hon. Minister Designate wanted to lure the minds of the Committee having noticed some of the members were Vandals.

Meanwhile, there has been sensitization of Vandalism and its usefulness to leadership development,  students activities among others.

Recently a group of Old Vandals from the UK branch and Greater Accra teamed up under the regular Observatory Life Special to sensitize students about the core essence of Vandalism.
