The Installation of Hall Master of Commonwealth Hall, University of Ghana has received massive attention after the flyer of the event went viral.
Celebrated Old Vandal, former Chairman of the Ashanti Regional branch has given further spotlight on the New Hall Master of Commonwealth Hall.
PROFILE OF DR. FRANCIS ANDERSON ADZEI
On Thursday, 17th February, 2022, *Dr. Francis Anderson Adzei* will be formally installed as the 14th Hall Master of Commonwealth Hall, University of Ghana, Legon. The Ceremony will be held at the Hall's *Terminal Gardens*(Bacchus Gardens) at 3.00pm.
*Who is Dr. Francis Anderson Adzei*?
Dr. Francis Anderson Adzei is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management, University of Ghana, Legon.
He has a B.Sc(Administration) First Class Degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Ghana, Legon, an M.Phil Degree in Health Promotion from the University of Bergen, Norway and a P.HD in Public Administration from Legon. He also has an LLB degree, also from Legon.
Dr. Adzei is a staunch member of the Methodist Church of Ghana. In fact he is a Member of the Council of Elders and also a Lay Preacher where he worships. He is a family man with a wife and three children.
His pastimes include singing,listening to good music(reggae, hymns, classical music, boborbor, etc). To keep fit, he enjoys gardening.
*What does Dr. Adzei bring to Commonwealth Hall(Vandal City)*?
In his undergraduate days, Dr. Adzei was resident in the Hall from 1999 to 2003.
He has served, and continues to serve the Hall in various capacities. For several years,he served as a Hall Tutor, culminating in his becoming Deputy Senior Tutor from 2016 to 2019.
He has served on the Hall Council, the Hall Tutorial Board, Development Committee, the Finance Committee and several *ad-hoc* commitees.
He already has experience for his forthcoming role. Between 2019 and 2021, he was the Hall Master of Elizabeth Frances Sey Hall.
Dr. Adzei has not confined his services to his Hall. He has served the wider University Community as a Member of the Academic Board, Residence Board, the Anti-Corruption Committee, the Finance and General Purpose Committee, the Accra City Campus Management Committee and the Management Board of the University of Ghana Co-operative Credit Union. He has also served on the Research and Conferences Committee of the University of Ghana Business School. He is the Examinations Officer of his Department.
Apart from his normal work in teaching and research, Dr. Adzei has also engaged in extension activities. He provides Consultancy Services to such bodies as the UNDP and the Ghana Health Service. He is an External Assessor for the Ho Technical University, Ho.
He is also an active Member of Ghana Integrity Initiative(GII), which is the Ghana Chapter of the anti-corruption body, Transperancy
International.
In teaching, Dr. Adzei loves to involve his students instead of seeing himself as the repository of knowledge.
It is hoped that he will bring his academic achievements and his experience to his impending position for the benefit of the Hall, the University of Ghana Community, Ghana and the wider, world-wide Community.
