Vandals Coat of Arm: Episode 2: I.K. Gyasi explains

THE COMMONWEALTH HALL COAT OF ARMS(2)

Description

Below is part of the description of the Coat of Arms in the special, archaic technical French and Italian riddled English of heraldry:

*"Quarterly Or and Azure and Escarbuncle counter charged a Bordure Giles charged with three Mullets Sable fimbriated gold And for the Crest On a Wreath Or and Azure and Gules a Leopard passant proper behind the head a Sun in Splendour Gold..."*

In plain, modern English:

*"The Shield has been divided into four parts using the colours gold and blue.* *There are radiating rods or spikes within a red border having three black stars etched with gold  colour round it. On the Crest, there is a wreath of gold, blue and red with a leopard in his natural colour walking(or striding) with a shining sun behind his head."*

(Please, note that the *Wreath* is made up of three colours, NOT two as I stated in the first part of this series).

Explanation of some terms:

1. *"Quarterly Or and Azure."*

It means the Shield has been divided into four parts using the colors *Or*(gold) and *Azure*(blue)

Refers to the 8 radiating rods or spokes  that form crosses.

3. *"Sable"*

4. *"Bordure Gules"*

Red border.

5. *"Leopard passant proper"*

Leopard in his natural colour("proper") walking or striding("passant")
